Welcome to the official website of the Special Air Service Regimental Association. This site has been designed to give as much accurate information about the Special Air Service Regiment as possible, within the bounds of the Regiments disclosure policy.

The SAS Regimental Association is the only official organisation that represents the Special Air Service Regiment and its affiliated Units and incorporates its Benevolent Fund.

The Units represented are shown on this site. It is a Registered Charity No 254393 and a copy of our Annual Report and Accounts is available to the public through the Charity Commission website.

North Devon Remembers 2015

I am writing to inform your Association of an event occurring in North Devon at the end of June in Barnstaple.

I am one of the organisers/co-ordinators for an Armed Forces event covering north, mid Devon, North Cornwall and North Somerset.  The event covers three days, the 25th, 26th and 27th of June, and is basically a three day military museum.  Its remit is to show the public, pupils and veterans families what Britain’s Armed Forces have experienced and witnessed around the World since 1945.

We display artefacts, images, anecdotes and kit telling the story of conflicts, postings, National Service, equipment and training undergone by youngsters over the last 70 years.  Several units from the Armed Forces attend, along with career teams from the Army, Navy and RAF.  Alongside SSAFA will be an NHS veteran’s support group that provides support and help for ex service personnel.

The first two days is for schools across the region, to date 60 have been invited/informed, the last day (Saturday the 27th, Armed Forces Day) is for the whole community.  Any ex service personnel attending will be fed and watered for free over that period.  There is great camaraderie, a lot of banter, and new friendships forged.

Anyone interested in attending should get more details from www.northdevonremembers.dsl.pipex.com.

Charitable status – welfare

The aims and objects of the Association, are to promote the well-being of its members and their dependants and to maintain the Regiment’s tradition and esprit de corps. However, the Association’s priority is, and always has been, the welfare of its members.  Over the last few years the Special Air Service Association has paid out an average of £ 120,000 a year for direct financial support to members who, through no fault of their own, have found themselves needing a helping hand. No member or member’s widow or dependant is ever turned away, if the problem is a genuine one.
